Pools in Cut and Shoot

Pool care in Cut and Shoot: soil, water and HOA rules

Pools here are mostly on acreage and rural lots, and our work is mainly repairs, equipment and remodels rather than dense weekly routes.

Pools in Cut and Shoot tend to sit on larger lots, often a long way from the house, with long plumbing runs to the equipment pad and, sometimes, well water for filling. Owners here are often handy and look after their own pools, calling us when something breaks, when the water will not clear or when the pool is ready for a new finish. Heavy tree cover and well-water minerals are the usual complications.

Soil
Sandy loam over clay, with wooded acreage and occasional low, wet ground near creeks.
Water
Many homes are on private wells or small water systems. Well water can carry iron and manganese, which stain pools.
HOAs
Most properties are outside HOA control, though some subdivisions have deed restrictions.

Local questions

Pool service questions from Cut and Shoot homeowners

Something specific to your pool? Call (832) 528-4979 — we would rather look at it than guess.

Do you come out to Cut and Shoot for repairs?

Yes. Cut and Shoot is about 18 miles from our office, east of Conroe on SH-105. Most of our work there is repairs, equipment replacement and remodels. For weekly service, call and ask; it depends on route availability at the time.

My acreage pool has a long run to the equipment. Does that matter?

It can. Long plumbing runs add friction, which affects pump sizing and can make priming harder, and they are more places for leaks to hide. When replacing a pump, we size it for the actual plumbing rather than the pool alone, and when chasing a leak we pressure-test the lines one at a time.

Can you help if I maintain my own pool but the water will not clear?

Absolutely — that is one of our most common calls from owners who do their own maintenance. Usually it is water balance, metals from well water, a filter that needs attention, or a pump not running long enough. We diagnose the cause and tell you what to change, not just shock it and leave.

Is it “Cut and Shoot” or “Cut N Shoot”?

The city’s official name is Cut and Shoot. You will see “Cut N Shoot” on signs and in some listings, including older versions of our own. It is the same place, and yes, we service it.
