Older incandescent and halogen pool lights burn out, run hot and cost more to power. LED replacements use far less energy, last far longer and can change colour — which is the upgrade our customers mention in their reviews. Timing. Lighting work can be done any time of year. Many customers pair it with a remodel or replaster, when access is easiest.

How LED pool lighting is priced
A written price, before work starts
LED lights are priced per light, installed. Colour-changing fixtures cost more than white; lights that need a new cord pulled through the conduit, or a transformer upgrade, cost more than a straight swap. Repairs that turn out to be a GFCI or transformer are much less.
We look at the pool first, then give you a written price. Nothing starts until you have agreed to it.

With the Christmas holiday a few weeks away, we had our Spa/Hot Tub relay and some other equipment fail. I talked through our options with Brian and decided that we would go with a full automation system to replace what we had, a new heater, and LED lighting. I had been putting it off but now was the right time. The quote was very reasonable and Brian, Chris and Greg were able to get the work done the next week. Can you replace a pool light without draining the pool?
Usually, yes. Pool lights are designed with enough cord coiled in the niche that the fixture can be lifted out and brought up onto the deck to be changed. The pool stays full. Draining is only needed if the niche itself is damaged or leaking, which we check while the light is out.
Why did my pool light stop working?
The most common causes are a tripped GFCI, a failed bulb or LED module, water getting into the fixture, or a problem with the transformer or cord. Resetting the GFCI is worth trying first. If it trips again as soon as the light comes on, stop, because that points to water in the fixture or a wiring fault that needs a professional.
Are LED pool lights worth the cost?
They use a small fraction of the power of the old incandescent pool lights, last many times longer, and run cooler. On a pool that is lit most evenings, the energy saving alone is noticeable, and colour-changing LEDs change how the pool looks at night. If your old light still works you do not have to replace it, but when it fails, LED is the obvious replacement.
Can my new lights work with my automation system?
In most cases. Many LED lights can be switched and colour-changed from pool automation panels and phone apps, and some are designed to work with specific controllers. Tell us what controller you have, or send a photo, and we will recommend lights that work with it.
