A heater turns a Houston pool from a five-month pool into a nine-month pool, and a spa from occasional into nightly. It also sits outside through humid summers and the odd hard freeze, which is hard on ignition systems, pressure switches and heat exchangers. We repair gas heaters and heat pumps, and when one is past saving we help you choose between the two — because the right answer depends on how you actually use the pool, not on what happens to be on the truck.
Gas heaters and heat pumps repaired or replaced so the season does not end in October.
Error codes read, ignition, flow and pressure switches tested, and the actual fault found before any part is ordered.
The fast option — heats a spa in well under an hour and a pool in a day. Common repairs: igniters, flame sensors, pressure switches and control boards.
Much cheaper to run in Houston’s mild shoulder seasons. Common repairs: fans, sensors, refrigerant faults and flow problems.
Many “heater faults” are low flow from a dirty filter or a failing pump. We check the system around the heater, not just the heater.
When replacement makes sense, we size the unit to your pool, your spa and the months you want to swim — not the biggest model in the catalogue.
Heaters wired to your controller so the spa can be warming before you get home.
Why people call us
How it works

Timing. Heater searches peak in May and again as the weather cools in October. Get a tired heater looked at in September, before the first cold week.
Error codes and symptoms first. A heater that will not fire and one that fires then shuts off point to different parts.
Water flow, gas supply or electrical supply checked, because a heater protects itself when either is wrong.
Heat exchangers are the expensive failure. If yours has gone on an older unit, we show you the replacement numbers alongside.
The heater is run through a full cycle and temperatures checked before we leave.
How it is priced
A written price, before work starts
Most heater repairs — igniters, sensors, switches, boards — cost far less than a replacement. Replacement cost depends on whether it is a gas heater or a heat pump, its size, and how much gas or electrical work the installation needs. Gas line or electrical upgrades are quoted separately and clearly if they are needed.
We look at the pool first, then give you a written price. Nothing starts until you have agreed to it.
We come out, look at the pool and give you a written price. No charge and no obligation.

With the Christmas holiday a few weeks away, we had our Spa/Hot Tub relay and some other equipment fail. I talked through our options with Brian and decided that we would go with a full automation system to replace what we had, a new heater, and LED lighting. I had been putting it off but now was the right time. The quote was very reasonable and Brian, Chris and Greg were able to get the work done the next week. Everything works great now and our family really enjoyed the new lighting. I highly recommend Aloha Swimming Pools!

I was in need of a new pool heater, booster pump, pressure side cleaner, and control board for a roughly 20 year old pool. Brian was very quick to respond to my online inquiry, and was onsite the next day. He was incredibly knowledgeable and did not over sell me on my needs. Finished project was new 400k BTU Heater, 3/4 Hp Booster Pump, Racer LS Pressure side cleaner, and new iQ2.0 upgrade to my Jandy controls. From onsite consultation to all equipment installed was less than a week. Pool/Spa are ready for winter swimming. Spa nights to rest sore muscles and enjoy a recovery drink is back on the agenda. Pool is crystal clean with new cleaner, and best part....I can control it all from my cell phone or tablets. Highly recommend giving Brian and his team a call for your next pool needs.
Where we do it
Before you call

For most North Houston pools used from March to November, a heat pump costs far less to run because it works efficiently in mild air temperatures. A gas heater wins when you want the spa hot in thirty minutes on a January evening, or heat on demand for occasional use rather than all season. Many of our customers with a pool and spa combination end up with gas for exactly that reason. We ask how you use the pool before recommending either.
That pattern usually means a safety switch is tripping — most often low water flow from a dirty filter, a clogged basket or a failing pump, or a pressure switch or high-limit sensor that has failed. Clean the filter and baskets first, because that alone fixes a lot of them. If it still cycles, the error code on the display tells us where to start.
Roughly eight to twelve years for a gas heater and a little longer for a well-kept heat pump, but water chemistry matters more than age. Low pH and high chlorine eat copper heat exchangers, which is why heater failures cluster on pools with poorly balanced water. Keeping the water in balance is the cheapest heater protection there is.
Yes. Water left standing in a heater that is not circulating can freeze and crack the heat exchanger or headers, which is one of the more expensive freeze repairs. During a freeze the pump needs to keep water moving through the heater, and if power is lost for long the heater may need draining. Our freeze protection page covers what to do.

We come out, look at the pool properly, and put a written price together before any work starts.
