Pool Deck Resurfacing & Repair in Spring & Houston

In much of North Houston the answer is the soil. Expansive clay swells after heavy rain and shrinks in drought, and a concrete slab sitting on it flexes until it cracks, especially along control joints and near the pool where the ground was disturbed during construction. Proper joint repair and keeping water from getting under the slab reduce it. No coating can stop soil movement, but a well-prepared surface hides it far better.

Most cracked decks can be resurfaced if the concrete underneath is still sound and the sections are level. We repair the cracks first so they do not reappear through the new surface. If sections have heaved, sunk or broken into pieces, those need replacing first, and we will tell you which parts rather than pricing the whole deck as new.

Light-coloured, textured coatings designed for pool decks stay much cooler under bare feet than bare grey concrete, dark stamped concrete or dark pavers. Colour matters most — the lighter the better — followed by texture. If your family avoids the deck on summer afternoons, it is the single most noticeable upgrade you can make.

Light foot traffic is usually fine within a day or two once the finish has cured, and furniture can go back a few days later. Rain during curing is the main risk, which is why we watch the forecast closely. In storm season we schedule around the weather. We tell you exactly when it is ready.
