Green pool cleanup and one-time pool cleaning in Spring and North Houston. We clear the debris, kill the algae and get the filter and water chemistry back under control — then check the equipment, because a pool that turned green usually did so for a reason.

A Houston pool can go from clear to green in two or three days. A week of summer storms dilutes the chlorine and washes in debris, a power cut stops the pump, a service company quietly stops coming, or you buy a house whose pool has been sitting for months. We bring green pools back — clear the debris, kill the algae, get the filter and chemistry under control — and check the equipment while we are there, because a pool that went green once usually went green for a reason.
Green, neglected or storm-hit pools brought back — then weekly service if you want it.
Shock treatment, algaecide where it helps, and heavy brushing to break up algae on the walls and floor.
Leaves, branches and sludge removed from the floor before chemicals are wasted on them.
A green-pool clean-up clogs filters fast. Filters are cleaned repeatedly through the process.
After tropical storms and heavy rain — debris, silt and diluted water sorted out.
For a house bought with a neglected pool: clean-up, equipment check and a walk-through of how it all works.
Many clean-ups turn into weekly service. There is no obligation.
Why people call us
How it works

Timing. Green-pool calls peak April to June as pools are opened, and again after tropical storms from June through October.
How green, how much debris, and whether the equipment is working — sometimes the pump is the reason it turned.
Debris out, pool shocked and brushed, filter running continuously.
Most green pools need two or more visits to clear fully, with filter cleaning each time.
Water balanced, equipment noted, and advice on keeping it clear.
What it costs
Single visits from $60
Single cleaning visits start at $60. A green pool usually needs more than one visit and more chemicals, so recovery is priced after we have seen the water — a lightly green pool needs far less work than a black-bottomed pond that has sat all summer. Pool size, the amount of debris and how many return visits it takes decide the price. If the plaster turns out to be damaged underneath, we tell you — but we do not use a green pool as a reason to sell a replaster.
Starting prices. Your exact price is confirmed in writing before any work starts.
We come out, look at the pool and give you a written price. No charge and no obligation.

I can't say enough about the people at Aloha. I had an issue with my pool that had been essentially non-functional for 18 months (thank you Texas February Freeze). We had paid two different companies to drain, wash and fix the issues. Thousands of dollars, but nothing worked. We gave up. I finally decided I would not keep looking at a swamp. Brian called me back within 5 minutes. Chris was at my house that very same day, starting the fixes. Michael was there two days later, vacuuming. Chris came on Monday, finished the vacuuming, and worked on the water balance. They found other issues, and are in the process of fixing all of them! Long story short, I have never seen such great customer service. They have been professional, friendly, prompt, and honest. Each one of them has gone above and beyond for us. Our pool is almost back to pre-freeze! I will not ever let anyone else touch our pool. They are amazing.

A lightly green pool can clear in a day or two. A deep green or black pool with a lot of debris usually takes several days and multiple visits, because the filter has to catch all the dead algae and gets clogged repeatedly along the way. Keeping the pump running continuously through the process speeds it up. We give you a realistic estimate after seeing it.
Rain dilutes the chlorine, washes in organic matter and pollen, and can knock the pH off balance — all while warm Houston water is ideal for algae. Several inches in a day can turn a pool in forty-eight hours. Testing and shocking after big storms prevents most of it, which is part of what weekly service does. Our blog has more on this.
Often. Sellers want the pool clear for photos and showings; buyers want to know what they are taking on. We can do a one-time clean-up and, if you want, a note on the equipment condition. For buyers, it is worth doing before the option period ends so you know whether anything major needs fixing.
Usually not. Treating the water is almost always cheaper and faster, and draining carries its own risk in Houston because groundwater pressure can lift an empty pool. Draining makes sense when the water is extremely high in dissolved solids or calcium, or when you were planning a replaster anyway. We recommend treatment first in almost every case.

We come out, look at the pool properly, and put a written price together before any work starts.
