Usually. Many pools from the 1960s and 1970s have concrete shells that are still sound, with finishes, tile, coping and equipment that have simply worn out. A remodel replaces those for a fraction of the cost of a new pool. We look at the shell first and tell you honestly if it has problems.

Expansive clay moves with the weather, and a rigid concrete pool sits in the middle of that movement. It shows up as cracked decks, gaps at the coping joint, loose tiles and, over time, cracked underground plumbing that leaks. Sealing joints and fixing leaks early are the best defences. We check for all of it before a replaster or remodel.
