Weekly Pool Maintenance in The Woodlands, TX
A pool in The Woodlands is a pool in a forest. The community was designed around the trees, and they drop something into your water in every month of the year — pine needles and cones in summer, oak catkins and a film of yellow pollen in spring, leaves that sink and stain the plaster in autumn.

What we see in The Woodlands
Common weekly pool service problems in The Woodlands
Weekly maintenance here is built around that. Baskets are emptied every visit, the floor is vacuumed rather than left to the automatic cleaner, and filters are cleaned more often than on an open lot. The pools themselves range from original ones in Grogan’s Mill and Panther Creek to large pools with spas and automation in Sterling Ridge and Creekside Park, and a customer here once called us the best kept well known secret in The Woodlands.
- Pine needles slipping past the skimmer weir and starving the pump
- Spring pollen coating the surface and feeding algae
- Leaves sinking and leaving tannin stains on white plaster
- Filters clogging in weeks rather than months under heavy canopy
- Automatic cleaners jammed with cones and twigs
A local tip
Put a leaf canister on the cleaner hose or suction line. It catches needles and leaves before they reach the pump basket, and on a Woodlands lot it can be the difference between the pump running properly all week and running dry by Thursday.
Why weekly, not every other week, in The Woodlands
On an open lot in Cypress, some pools can manage on fortnightly service in winter. Under Woodlands canopy that rarely works. Two weeks of needles and leaves in a skimmer is enough to cut circulation, and reduced circulation plus organic debris is exactly how algae gets started.
We would rather tell you that up front than sign you up for a cheaper plan that leaves you with a green pool by the second week.

Weekly pool service prices in The Woodlands
From $200 a month + tax
Tree cover is the biggest price factor here. A Creekside Park pool on an open lot takes far less time than a Grogan’s Mill pool under mature pines. Pools with spas, water features and automation also take longer. We price after the walkthrough, and the quote says exactly what is included.

Aloha is the best kept well known secret in The Woodlands. The owners are consistently engaged, they know who their clients are, address problems quickly, their automated invoices and pool service reports are excellent. Most importantly, our pool has never looked better!

Brian and Aloha are the best. Super responsive, very helpful. I've tried several pool service companies in the Woodlands Area before settling here. You should use Aloha Swimming Pools.
Local questions
Weekly pool service questions from The Woodlands pool owners
General questions are on the service page. These are the ones that come up in The Woodlands.
How often should a Woodlands pool filter be cleaned?
More often than the manufacturer’s label suggests. Under heavy pine and oak cover, cartridge filters can need cleaning every four to six weeks through spring and autumn, and pressure is the real guide — when it rises well above the clean reading, it is time. We track the pressure on every visit and clean on the reading rather than the calendar.
Do you service pools in Carlton Woods and the gated villages?
Yes, provided gate access is arranged before the first visit. Tell us at the walkthrough how your gate works — a code, a transponder or a gatehouse list — and we set it up so the weekly visit happens without you needing to be home. If a code changes, a quick text saves a missed visit. Carlton Woods pools also tend to be large, with spas and features, and the weekly price reflects the time they take.
Why does my Woodlands pool turn yellow-green every spring?
Much of that colour is pollen from the pines and oaks, which settles on the surface and waterline. It is not algae, but it feeds algae if it sits. Weekly brushing, skimming and keeping the chlorine up through March and April stops it turning into a real algae problem. Mustard-coloured deposits that brush off but return can be yellow algae, which needs a stronger treatment.
Can weekly service include my spa and water features?
Yes. Many Woodlands pools, especially in Sterling Ridge, Alden Bridge and Creekside Park, have attached spas and features. The visit covers them, including brushing, checking the spillover and making sure features are running as programmed.
